Chaining
Through chaining, a complex task is broken into a sequence of responses that are rewarded. Like in the video above, chaining is usually taught backwards. With chainging, one response is reinforced, then two, then three. Like the rat in the video chaining is usually done backwards. The rat is first reinforced when it presses the level. It is then reinforced when it pushes the rod AND presses the lever. Finally, a third behavior is added and the rat must place the mable, push the rod, and press the lever before it is rewarded.
